Purchase and replace ball

Something small and hard fell in the mouse track ball area and while i was pressing it (upside down) on a piece of paper to clean it, that little hard piece of dust, carved the surface of my track ball making it unable to scroll without jumping around!

So im now in the need of purchasing a new ball and replacing it! Does the ball as a part exist? Because i can't find anything on ebay! Any help?

Does anyone know how to find the provider of the scroll ball Apple uses to equip the Mighty mouse?

Sadly, the Mighty Mouse and the Magic Mouse are deemed as not repairable by Apple. You're only hope here is to see if you can locate a dead one to steal the part to make yours whole again or look into getting a new one.

genik, I am sure that you have already checked these instructions. Post an image of your trackball as well as the damage with your question and lets see if we can assist you finding what you need. If you can measure the diameter of the ball and let us know what you find. the scroll ball is nothing but a "rubber" ball with a metal core. I would suggest to measure the existing ball and get something the same (or at least very close to it) ball from places like this. Hope this helps, good luck.

update

any mechanic or machinist should be able to help you. All you need is a set of vernier calipers to measure it.

I thought by now you had found what you needed. Anyhow, the diameter is 7.15mm/0.2815inch
