How do I unjam a paper jam in my printer?
I can see there is a paper crumpled up in my printer. How do I remove it without making it worse?

Try to flip your printer around (to the back of it) , it doesn't look like it can be opened but that'd be an arrow and just push in that direction and the backside will flip open and you can take out your paper jammed from there!

I did get the piece of paper out, but the error is still showing?

first unplug the printer from power and wait for 1 min than restart the printer .
please don’t pull the paper out from a jam in the opposite direction this will create more issues .
just go check to make sure there is no loose paper stuck in loading tray .
you can also take out paper roller and clean paper roller using a cotton cloth .

after all steps consider restarting the devices (printer , computer , and router )

Good advice. To be more specific, flip the printer so it is standing on its face where the Canon logo is (closing the paper drawer first of course( with the underside facing you. There is fat roller looking bit at the top with a large arrow, and a flange sitting behind the arrow. Push the flange in the direction of the arrow and it will open the back. There may be orange sticky tape closing the aperture which you need to remove..

To fix a paper jam, gently pull the paper out, pulling it through the rear tray or the output tray in the front. Then press the resume/cancel button.

I took out part of a page but can't see the rest of the paper
unless it is just so close to paper tray, this could do some damage. go around to back and see arrow. slide to left and yep, unplug machine and see paper able to get out easy.
gently pull it out , it often works

I don't see in my printer HP #2645 any paper to pull gently but it's stuck in the jem
I tried doing that but the paper ripped and the situation is worse
step 1. make sure no paper
step 2 paper jam sensor must correct position . flag sensor is free

Make beyond any doubt that the stuck paper is not under the FINE cartridge holder.
On the off chance that the stuck paper is under the FINE cartridge holder, move the FINE cartridge holder to the right edge or the left edge whichever is simpler to expel the paper.
When you move the FINE cartridge holder, hold the FINE cartridge holder and slide it gradually to the right edge or the left edge.
Hold the stuck paper with your hands.
Pull the paper gradually not to tear it, then haul the paper out.
Ensure that all the stuck paper is evacuated.
Close the paper yield spread, then reload the paper.

Thank you!! this was not in the online manual. I was about to give up hope and go to buy a new printer. I was so frustrated. I just could not get a hold of it. It had ripped. Thanks again!

For most consumer models there will be only one sheet of paper threading through the machine at a time and a straightforward path from the paper feed to the output tray. In that case, you will want to search visually. Look to see if there are pieces of paper sticking out where you can see them. For larger commercial printers, where the paper path is more convoluted, you will need to consult the paper jam status message for hints of where to look.

My new cannon 3600 printer was working fine for a few days then it decided to injest about 8 pages at one time WHY ? and a paper jam occurred. I watched the onlnie video on how to pull it out gently but I can't pull out the paper as there is so much of it . I don't want to damage the printer. What now ? Do you have a Cannon repair person near Dublin Ireland ?
