Here's some good reading on the different drive interfaces: Understanding SCSI, ATA, SAS and SATA

This drive is intended for large server systems not desktop or laptop systems. I would recommend you return it and get your money back as just isn't anyway to use it here.

You MacBook Pro uses a SATA interface so no you can't use this SAS drive as it's not compatible.

Instead you could go with either of these two drives:

  • Samasung 850 EVO. They offer both a 2 TB & 4 TB drives. Samsung also offers an ultra large 16 TB SSD as well (well beyond what most people would need)
  • Crucial MX300 The largest they offer is a 2 TB

Neither SanDisk, Kingston or Transcend don't offer anything larger than 960 GB in 2.5" SATA

The SanDisk drive you listed is quite expensive! Why do you think you need such a drive? Maybe we can offer you some other alternatives.
