Should I replace the battery myself?

My dad's m8 keeps dying at 20%~ and I was wondering If I should attempt to replace it myself. it got a 2 out of 10. I already have a soldering hot gun that can be set to a minimum of 150 degree so I'll use it to open everything else.

he had it for 2 years (when htc one m9 came)

sorry if it's a dumb question it's just that I"m a little afraid as I've never done it before

kam hagh the toughest part will be to remove the display assembly. Broken one myself changing the battery. You can do it just follow the guide Remplacement de la batterie du HTC One M8 and don't take any shortcuts. The biggest issue here will be to get the heat to loosen the glue for the display. Do not blast the display with hot air since that will destroy it. Focus the heat on the edges.Do not pry to hard etc.

Of course if you are really unsure about it, you can always get it replaced by a professional, but that is no fun at all ;-)

OFC I assume the professionals will ask for so much money. also they ruined my dad's old one s as in my country there aren't many :P

I am certain you can get it done. Just take your time and check the guide a couple of times. Study it for any tough tasks like the heating the display etc. Be organized and don't rush things. You'll get it!

I don't think it's hard.

I've opened up the m8 plenty of times without issue.
