Unplug device. Hold down power button for 60 seconds and then let go of it. Plug in the power cord. Now hold down the power button a few seconds and it will (should) come on. Worked for my Zenpad 3s 10.

I had been playing game and folded the case cover over and headed into a meeting, battery was @85%...3 hours later I returned to find the tablet dead and not appearing to charge/turn on at all. So I googled for a few minutes and found the 60-sec power button and charge cord & then power button trick. Power shows 68% on the tablet now so it actually never drained....must have just frozen in the game or something???

eqtoasted Thank you it worked for me <3

I'm having the same issue although none of the fixes I've found seem to be working. When I plug my tablet in I get the battery icon with the lightning bolt in the middle (like it has no charge) then I immediately get the battery icon that shows a full charge. Then a blank screen and nothing happens. Very frustrating. Tablet is only weeks old. I will be returning it for a replacement.

par

Thank you EQTOASTED, that worked for me as well. Maybe put it in the freakin manual? Ha.

And it worked for me. T H A N K S ! ! ! ! !

Yep - worked for me - well done!

Try a hard reset using Recovery Mode. NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA.

Turn off your device by pressing Power button.

Hold down Volume Down + Power key.

As soon as menu appears, release all the buttons.

Navigate to "wipe data/factory reset"Reset with Volume Up and Volume Down keys. Use Power button to select.

Choose option "Yes--delete all user data".

To reboot select "reboot system now".

You have just completed hard reset process.

If this works, please up my reputation.

Holding the power button down 60 seconds turns the device off even if frozen. I got stuck at a flickering blank screen while watching FB videos.

I have no idea why it did what it did, battery shouldn't have been dead either but now it's charging, giving me a charging symbol, but won't turn on.

Oh thank G-d, this worked.. I was pressing & holding the power button and the volume down and then power button and nothing was happening, just the white light.. I plugged it in like you said and counted out 60 seconds.. after around 35-40 seconds the green battery with a + over it came up and I kept holding.. when I finally let go the light on the top turned red and the white light by the screen had turned off.. I pressed the power button normal after this and the Asus logo came up and started to boot as normal.. everything is working now.. but whyyyy did this happen? Could it be from someone using the charger for a phone??

I was in the same position as reported by Jim Fournier, above: ‘I'm having the same issue although none of the fixes I've found seem to be working. When I plug my tablet in I get the battery icon with the lightning bolt in the middle (like it has no charge) then I immediately get the battery icon that shows a full charge. Then a blank screen and nothing happens. ‘

Spent hours trying key combinations both whilst charging and with cable out. Eventually got a bios-style menu with 3 boot options. Chose Normal Boot and all was well again. Hooray!

The key combination was either Volume Down + Power or Volume Down + Power + Home and I did this while there was some sign of life i.e. when the charging level was showing.

I had the issue of my ZenPad not charging after a small drop. Also the home button stopped working. When i tried to power up, a low battery icon appeared briefly but nothing happened. Hard resets did not work.

The reason in my case was a disconnected ribbon cable inside the tablet and was quite easy to put right.

You need to take the metal back off the device, first make sure the sd card tray is out, and remove the 2 little screws either side of the usb port. Then use a prying tool or similar (I used guitar plectrums) to ease the screen and metal case apart. It comes off quite easily once you get started, just take your time.

Once the back was off it was immediately obvious that the left hand ribbon cable was unseated from it's port. once the connection was restored, the metal case clipped back on and everything was working again.

Thank you for your input. That was exactly the same thing what happened with my tablet. Strange that the battery was 87% but won't reset without even a brief charging. To my surprise it was still drawing approximately 200mA off the charger without the ribbon in the socket. Nb this tablet is still going strong despite seven years and counting.

This worked for mine. I closed the cover last night after a game and it wouldn't come on today. I held the power button for about 10 seconds and plugged it in. The batter indicator came up at 65% then booted when I hit power.

I got mine brand new 4 days ago and already having the same issue. None of the steps worked. The tablet turned off while using it, fyi, it was fully charged, and would not power back on. Asus has a lot of tablets that do this very same thing. I should had known better. But I thought zen motion would help with that issue, but that tap twice crap dont work either. I think their android tablets are flat out no good. I am sticking with iPad or samsung. Fyi the casing around the tablet is not even put together well, its loose. Smh. Get it together asus. Your gaming laptops are amazing but anything to do with touch screens are awful..

The fix supplied by Eqtoasted worked for me with a twist. I held the power on/off button for 60 sec. , then tapped the same button and the unit responded and powered on. No attaching to the power cord.

Just a little twist, THANKS Eqtoasted!!!

It worked, sort of but It Worked!!

my zen thing was stalling on startup.

Holding Vol+ and POWER for about 15-25 seconds launched a screen (finally! its alive!) and after trying REBOOT first (to no avail), I finally tried RECOVERY and that resulted in an error so finally tried WIPE DATA which has worked, now my asus tablet will start up all the way!

Hi, my tablet turned off with 75% battery, i’ve tried EVERYTHING.

Soft reset (didn’t turn on)

Hard reset (didn’t turn on)

I even unplugged the battery like 20 times (didn’t turn on either), and out of frustration, tried to softly scratch the battery conector pins, to release any charge remaining.

After that the tablet turned on and life was great, until i assembled the back on, then it turned off and couldn’t turn it on since. Before it turned off i catched a glance of the % battery remaining, and it had 70% so it’s not a battery thing.

I’ve come to the conclussion that the tablet is somewhat stuck, but i can’t turn it back on.

Please somebody help me hahaha

THANK YOU!

My Asus EeeBook just wouldn't start, whatever I tried. Until I saw your post, and did what you suggested (delightfully simple instructions - I'm tech challenged ) and watched with great relief as the black screen lit up! (the battery was on empty and apparently was not charging with a black screen). This saved me an expensive visit by a computer technician.

Solution tried: Unplug device. Hold down power button for 60 seconds and then let go of it. Plug in the power cord. Now hold down the power button a few seconds and it will (should) come on. Worked to start my 6 year old Asus EeeBook (!)

Jedyne rozwiązanie to naciskanie guziczków?
