My screen is with horizontal lines after a physical damage

Hello guys! My problem is this: My macbook has suffered damage in the lower right corner, which resulted in my screen with 3/4 horizontal lines of the LDC, the top part remaining normal.

There was no cracking or anything, I did not take my computer to any assistance yet, but I talked to several on the phone and they all want to change my display, at an absurdly expensive price. Is there another option?

Hello Arthur,

Unfortunately the whole LCD assembly needs to be replaced :( This repair is difficult for the average person and even the tech proficient. Once you fix it, I would definitely invest in a sturdy plastic case and a Moshi brand ivisor to protect the front. Sorry for the bad news.

Here they charge about $ 850 to do this repair, and I plan to spend about 350 ~ 450 dollars fixing it myself.

Hello Arthur,

$850 is steep! I would buy the screen from a reputable seller and follow the guide. The guide for the 2015 is basically the same at the 2016. My advise would be to be very careful with step 13, 16, and 21. For step 16 make sure to peel the adhesive off the metal bracket completely or it will stick to the closing latch. Its also easy to forget about the extra slack on the tiny audio cable on step 21 and close the bottom lid on it. You can also modify a regular pick into battery separator pick if you don't want to order one (but it is really handy).
