*help* problems after repair

So, I was restoring an iPhone 7 Plus. I replaced the Chassis, LCD and Battery.

I transferred literally everything over from the old chassis to the new one, same with the LCD. I come to power on the device and I’m hit with a bootloop. After about 5 minutes of boot looping, it turns on BUT it says Searching at the top and my battery is showing 1% (on the new and old battery, I’ve tested both). It is not charging at all and whenever I turn it off, it goes back to boot looping.

I’ve tried the old lcd and battery but no luck there. The front camera flex is fully connected, I even tried when it was disconnected! What is happening?!

Bearing in mind, the phone was fully functional before I started this repair.

Hi,

Are you using the original charging port?

A lot of times the replacement chassis come with charging port connection issues, this will cause no service issues and also cause the boot loop your describing.

If you transferred over the old port you need to go back and check it for any tears.

Hi,

I transferred everything, including the original charging port. Is it most probably the charging port though? If so, I shall order a replacement one.

Hi,

I would order a new charger port flex. I think that would fix all the issues your experiencing.

Okay, I will update you when I’ve replaced it. Cheers!

This worked a treat! Thank you very much.

Hi, happy I could help, it’s always worth trying the basics before we go down the micro soldering route. That’s the way I work in my workshop anyway.

Would it be worth trying a new sub pba though?

Hi Liam,

as we all (microsoldering cominity) know that

iphone 7/7 plus board have diseases same as we faced back in IPhone 6/6 plus touch deseas and baseband deseas.

and this happenes because of stretch/shock or any kind of compact.

and if you search iPhone 7 rear down on Ifixit.

you ll find out the baseband and audio ic on iPhone 7/7 on opponent side of the board but at the same place.

now boot loop on iPhone 7/7plus is either home button or audio ic. If your home button is ok than it’s look like audio ic and baseband which make more sense as they are at the same spot of the board. To check go to dialling pad and press *#06# if you dobf get imei the basebNd needs rebelling and it’s repairable. To find out audio ic go to recording and try to record something if it says faild or no audio found error it means audio ic needs jumpers with audio replacement this is repairable too.

Not easy but possible.

i am saying this because that’s what I do everyday.

I’ve just tried *#06* and nothing happens. Definitely the baseband IC then? Also the is no audio coming from videos.

So as I have explained in my comment. Baseband amd audio both needs sorting in you iPhone. bootloop is caused by audio ic and no service is caused by baseband. Before asking for repair you need to check whether it’s Qualcomm board or intel board?

And it’s happened because of may be the old housing was stretch/bent or you might have bent the board while replaceing the housing.
