Black screen on MacBook 2010 A1342 after upgrades

I just finished installing a new trackpad, logic board and the display cable. When I turned it on I got the chime but the screen is black.

I'm pretty sure that all of my installations and connections are correct.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this it will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

You changed too much at the same time so its hard to identify whats bad here.

Your problem could be a bad logic board, display cable or the display its self. The easiest way would be to use a second good system to swap out the display and the display cable to hopefully isolate whats bad. If you have an external display you could give that a try as well.

I tried an external display and I can barely see what’s on the screen I can see where I log into the MacBook but it’s not taking my password to open the machine up.

Any more suggestions?

I would guess your replacement logic board is bad. Put back the old one if it works, if not get another one.

Thanks,

I can't put the old logic board in because I broke the display cable connection. That's why I put in a new logic board and display cable.

Then it's time to get another logic board.

I put in a new logic board and it works fine one day and another day all I get is a grey or totally black screen. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks for your help.
