Safe to remove wifi card?

I am a writer who is hopelessly addicted to the internet and want to design a distraction-proof word-processing machine. My plan is to buy a refurbished Macbook Air, probably the mid-2012 model, and remove the wifi card, making it physically impossible for me to access the internet. I’m not terribly computer savvy, so I’m hoping you can help me answer a few questions. A) is it even possible to remove the wifi card from this model of Air? (I’ve been told that certain models are built in such a way that the wifi card is built into the machine) B) how will it affect the machine’s performance, if at all? C) should I go to a professional or can I remove the card myself? Thank you so much!
