Transformer issue with the device for Sony ICF-C1T

I had purchased Sony ICF-C1T from USA. I plugged it into 230V socket in India. It fried the transformer. I don’t have any clue of the specifications of the transformer, and where I can buy it. Can anyone please help me?

in usa many devices (like sony)is designed to use 120 volts AC Or 110 Volts AC

But In India, Their Voltage Is 230 Volts AC And it Will Fry The Transformer. But Sometimes You Need To Check The Voltage Selector If Its 120 Volts Or 220 Volts

@greatpunit unlikely that this is an isolated transformer issue. My suspicion would be a blown rectifier etc. before the transformer. You do want to go ahead and disassemble your device and look at the power board. Check for burned looking components. Use these guides to work on it Sony ICF-C1T Screen Replacement and post some good pictures of your board with your question. Ajout d'images à une question existante

Thank you for your prompt response. I had dismantled the complete device and I took out the transformer. I could see that the secondary of the transformer is not providing power. I will upload pictures of it.

Sony ICF C1 clock

Primary voltage is 230V and Secondary voltage is red - white 6.4 V AC and Yellow - blue 4.6V AC. Mostly primary winding will be burnt, because this clock is kept on continuous operation. You may rewind the primary winding with local winding technicians.

Same issue seems like both transformer and board burned.

Hi,

Can you post an image of the other side of the board. Nothing looks damaged on this side?

Did you measure the transformer with a DMM's (digital multimeter) Ohmmeter function to see if the primary and secondary windings are OK and not open circuit? Does the transformer or the board "smell" as though something has burned out?
