Any difference in Mid 2012 logic boards (other than speed)

iFixit has three logic boards listed for 15” mid-2012 MacBook Pros. The descriptions are the same except for the processor speed (2.3, 2.6, and 2.7 gHz). Are they interchangeable? I have no idea of the speed of my broken Mac. Also, minor point, why is the 2.6 so much cheaper?

The boards are exactly the same, other than supporting different CPU’s. In fact the 2011 models are also very similar to the 2012, in their case you can drop in a 2012 logic board into them!

Now the rub! ifixit and most of the other major parts houses are out of stock on these logic boards as the demand for them is greater than people disposing of them. I can’t explain the wacky price. Here’s a better idea on what you should expect to pay, this is from TheBookYard in the UK:

Be careful !! There are a lot of wacko’s on Amazon & eBay as well as Craigs list which will sell you a pile of junk! Make sure the outfit is a real brick & mortar store!

They should work as the only difference is literally the CPU speed. You could also check the speed of your Mac via either iFixit’s Mac identifier or something else (serial number check, etc)
