Wifi and cellular data won’t connect

I have an iPhone X that can accept and make calls, can see the cell network, and log into the WiFi network, but cannot connect online with neither WiFi nor cell data. If I set the phone as a hotspot, the devices that connects to it can use the data online. Somehow, the phone just won’t connect. I’ve made sure the antenna is secure. I’ve reset all network settings. Hard reset. I’m not sure what this might be.

This problem usually occurs on the X’s after a drop. There are two parts of the logic board that are sandwiched together. The bottom board which has all the RF components communicates with the top board through solder pads. When it suffers a drop it can cause cracked solder balls which become oxidised. If you have checked the antennas I think you will need to separate the boards and re-ball the pads.

This worked for me.

If you are connected to a wifi network, you are using the wifi. Are you stating that your cellular data only works when it's enabled but not connected to a wifi network? Do you see the 4GLTE icon at the top of your screen? Check Settings>Wirleless&networks and ensure the state of the cellular network is enabled. If it is and the cellular data is not working you can try to reset the network information by opening up your dialer and entering ##72786# and tapping yes. This will take you thru the activation steps once more and you should have your cellular data working once more.

It sees and connect to the WiFi network. It sees and displays the cellular network too. As a hotspot enabled device, I can connect a different iPhone to it and use the internet to get online but the original phone itself gives me errors on both WiFi and cellular when trying to connect to anything. Safari, YouTube, the App Store, I cloud... it just won’t connect to the internet on the device. I reset all network settings and get the same problem. I replaced a cracked screen, but was no where near the antenna which is under the battery. I thought maybe it was a loose connection, so I popped off the antenna connector and re plugged it back in. Still nothing.

Unfortunately, it shows 4GLTE and the Wifi network like nothing is wrong at all. It looks completely normal to the eye, it just won't connect to the internet via Wifi OR LTE4G even though it's connected. It also works as a Hotspot, which is off to me.
