Screen not working after replacement - external display works

Hi,

I recently replaced my MacBook pro's battery. When testing my screen didnt work, i get a distorted image. I tested with external displays and no problems there, that works just fine. So i tried with a new LVDS cable first but the problem remained. So i tried with a new display and i still got the samen distorted image. Where to look now? Is the LVDS connector on my logic board broken?

Well, somehow the display got damaged in the process. The T-CON board which is within the lid at the bottom of the LDC panel. A common thing I have seen in the last few years is the excessive cleaning has killed many! What happens is people use a spray cleaner directly on the screen to clean it without knowing it the cleaner drips down wetting the small T-CON logic board so it gets corrosion damage! The bad news is finding one! Lots of people are holding onto the older systems as either they meet their needs or they just don’t like the newer system’s (butterfly keyboard) & (lack of ports and no internal expansion). Keep an eye here or do your own search using the P/N 2013/14 - 15” MacBook Pro Display Assembly, Apple P/N 661-8310

Are you sure you got a good display? Did you replace the full display assembly or just the panel.

If an external display works, with the external still plugged in is the internal display now working?

@danj Yes, im certain i tried with a good panel. I replaced the entire display assembly. I even tested the current broken display on another system and it worked there. The external display works with the internal display on, but the internal display never works. It shows a distorted picture, no matter what.
