Is the EMC 2833 compatible with the EMC 2889 or 2805 kits?

I seem to have a failing hard drive on my 21.5” iMac with EMC 2833. It has a 2.8Ghz processor.

Is this of a series with the 2803 or the 2889? Or is it neither?

Can one of these work with my machine?

Please recheck that EMC number from the bottom of your stand.

I can send a picture. I took a picture to be certain.

I see "EMC No: 2833" under the bar code looking thing and alongside the serial number.

I also see "Model Number: A1418" .

I can open the "about this mac" window if that helps.

It's a bit confusing as Apple produced two versions the original Retina EMC 2889 (iMac16,1) and the 4K Retina EMC 2833 (iMac16,2) both are part of the 21.5" A1418 series.

I've corrected your model info (the icon on the right)

If you have a HDD model then you can just replace the 2.5” HDD with either another HDD or upgrade it to a 2.5” SSD

Here’s the guide to open your system to get to the drive: Changement disque dur iMac Intel 21,5" Retina 4K (2015) and here’s one option iMac Intel 21.5" (Late 2012-2019) SSD Upgrade Kit as most people just upgrade to the SSD. You’ll need the tools and adhesive strips to open the system that comes in the kit.
