Flashing Beans at startup and turns off

Hi, I have a Caffeo Solo coffee machine. The problem is that when I turn it on it makes a sound from the motor in the brewing unit for a couple of seconds then after maybe 5 seconds it start flashing through the bean lights, and after a few seconds it just turns off the machine. I cant find anywhere what that fault code means. I have stripped the machine and tested the microswitches but I cant figure out what is wrong.

Melitta says: "The brewing unit may not be locked correctly. Unlock the brewing unit and lock it again. If the display still flashes, remove the brewing unit, reinsert it and lock it again."

You can also turn off the machine, take out the brewing unit and press the microswitch of the brewing unit on the top right with a tool. Then switch on. It may then be position correctly.

It doesnt help. I have connected wires over the microswitches so that the machine thinks the brewing unit is connected, but nothing helps. i would like to know what the symbol of beans means, if the brewing unit is not in place it gives the right faultcode, but when i connect it, it after a few seconds shows the flashing beans and then it shuts off.

Did you check the microswitches in the gear drive? See Melitta Caffeo Solo Mikroschalter am Antrieb tauschen . Even if they seem to work fine they might actually be broken and have to be replaced.

Yes i checked the microswitches, they seems to work. Im not sure if the starting position of the gear is wrong, but it shoul correct it and find the right position by the posittion of the "microswitch wheel", but it dosent turn the wheel more than a few degrees so the wheel never push the microswitches.

I'm running out of ideas. I remember a Melitta where I would have to change the motor itself.

Hey Hans..i have the same problem after i changed the grinding wheels. I did the same as you..tried the microswitches..but nothing changes. Did you solve your problem already?

that's exactly what it was for me. I had for a few years the same problem. You can for example open the Machine and put some grinded coffe in the opening (left from Grinder) to "assist " the machine.

I am wondering how the grinder knows if there are any or adequate beans? I cannot see any sensors of any kind so how does it know if empty or full?

The machine measures the current to the grinder motor. If there are no beans in it, it does not draw as much current and the machine issues an error message.
