Hi @schreds

Check that the water pressure hose to securely connected to the tub and the water level pressure switch.

When the washer tub is filling the water also rises up the hose and the increasing pressure of the air trapped in the hose, between the water and the switch, operates the switch.

As the switch contacts operate, then when the circuit incorporating the corresponding water level selection switch (as selected by you) is closed, the water is shut off.

It may be a problem with the hose - clogged (check at the tub end), kinked, loose etc or with the switch.

I think the reason that it initially stops filling and starts agitating is that the appropriate water level has been reached but the agitation is perhaps causing the water to rise/fall a bit more in the tube which is causing it to start filling again, but this is only what I suspect and not what I know.

The links above are only to show where the parts are located in the machine and it is not a recommendation to use the supplier. If a part is faulty, search online using the manufacturer's part number only, which is shown on the page, to find suppliers that suit you best.

@jayeff thank you for taking the time to answer. I will check the water pressure hose as you suggested. You would think though that if this was the issue, it would stop filling and begin agitating again once it reached the proper level? I wondered if it might not be something with the timer switch? I have no way of knowing how to check this though. Thank you again for your answer
