Replacement screens seem to be incompatible?

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas here, so recently dropped my pixel 7 pro screen didn't appear obviously damaged externally but around 40% of it was no longer touch responsive so took it in to get repaired.

Following that they've now tried 3 separate replacement screens and are either getting tons of lines or no display at all, these screens have been tested on another pixel 7 pro and work without issues.

Both myself and the business fixing it for me are totally lost. Would anyone have any other ideas or is this just a cut your losses moment? I'd rather not given the price of a replacement but whole thing just makes no sense.

Cheers all

Hi @joeyd6184

It seems as though more damage has occurred due to the fall than just the screen.

Haven't verified it yet but here's a repair manual download that may help to find out what's wrong.

Presumably it will have troubleshooting flowcharts, board layouts etc and hopefully a parts list as well. Worth a look anyway.

Yeah certainly seems it! The bit that's confused me is how the original screen seems to present differently from any of the replacements. But will certainly have a look on there.

Possibly due to both the original screen and the motherboard being damaged but the new screens aren't damaged so maybe that's why the different reaction by the new screens.
