my battery health is on 97% but i still get a notification that i need to take it in for a service. For me that is going to be extremely expensive and i am looking for alternative was to fix this issue myself. i dont know if there are any sensors that are faulty or what

I would start off using a better tool than what Apple offers which can allow you better insight on what’s happening. Install this gem of an App CoconutBattery, take a snapshot of the Apps main window and post it here so we can see it. Then we should be able to identify what’s going on.
