No backlight, power cycling

Spilled coffee on my laptop so I chose to take on the challenge of fixing it myself. Bought a keyboard and after a replacement, I started getting this issue:

I plug in the laptop and try to boot it up. A feint apple logo comes up, but I can't see it without my phone's flashlight ( thus the backlight issue ). After a while, the red light on the power cable turns off and on. While it is off, the apple logo disappears. When the light turns back on, the apple logo comes back ( so ... power cycling ). I assume I must have damaged some cable because I'm certain everything is plugged in. How should I go about troubleshooting this?

Also, there's a tiny cable that leads from the battery to the logic board. If that is broken, what are the consequences? Could that be it?

Update (06/21/24)

I wanted to add that only the keyboard was faulty. The macbook was working fine otherwise.

The BMC cable which connects the battery to the logic board is the data link between them so the charging logic knows what is the batteries status.

Clearly your logic board got wet and has shorted out something. At this point you need to pull the board and do a very detailed inspection for wet areas and/or damaged components. Fixing this system will require deeper skills and tools are you able to repair micro-electronics? It might be best to find someone who has these deeper skills as liquid damage systems are one of the hardest to repair.

As mentioned in the comment, the macbook was working just fine other than the keyboard. I concluded that I must have damaged something during the keyboard replacement because of this...

@kennethgar34581 - I got that when reading your question. Liquid damaged systems are always difficult to fix as you think you found the one issue and others pop up unexpected like this. You might has still have some wetness which shifted making things worse. As I can't see what you have you need to be the detective what looks off or damaged?

Highly doubt this is the case since the liquid damage was caused months ago, so all the liquid that did make its way inside must have evaporated already. I also took the MacBook apart again and checked the PCB for any corrosion and it still looks in pristine condition. In the end, I'll be taking the MacBook to a repair service nearby which also does PCB level repair. I'll update the post with the problem and fix afterwards for anyone with the same issue
