Wanted more space for my steam library. The AAA games are like 80gb and above not including dlc and updates so it was a must have.
Ma solution
Opening the steam deck was the difficuly part for me but the guitar picks came in clutch. Once the steam deck is open it's smooth sailing from there.
Mon conseil
Before getting started make sure the micro sd is out. Once the back screws are off take the guitar pick and start at the top next to the triggers. Once inside make sure you pull the battery connection off and try the power button so you get rid of any residual power. Then and only then remove your original m.2.

The magnetic mat keeps things very organized. Last thing you want to do is lose a screw. It also comes with a marker so as you remove screws label them right on the mat.
