- Make sure the exterior of your phone is clean: Debris in your phone's charging port can casue unexpected restarts due to pins being bridged.
- Check for any app updates: Poorly optimized or buggy software can cause issues with how your phone functions, and can cause your phone to restart. Make sure to update your operating system to the latest avalable release, or quit any apps that might be likely offenders.
- Close any resource-intensive apps: Close any apps you’re not actively using, especially those that consume a lot of resources.
- Uninstall any recently installed apps: If the issue only started after recently installing an app, then try uninstalling the app and see if the issue continues. If you can't get to the app without your phone restarting, try booting your phone into Safe Mode.

Phone Storage is Almost Full
Solution: Clear out storage
If your phone’s storage space is nearly full, meaning anything over 80% capacity, then this can lead to performance issues and frequent restarts due to the lack of space that would be essential for system functions.
- Uninstall unused apps and app data: If you have apps that you don't frequently use, or no longer use, then you'll want to uninstall it to free up storage space.
- Open the Google Play Store app, or your specific phones equivalent.
- At the top right, tap the Profile icon.
- Tap Manage apps & devices Manage.
- Select the name of the app you want to delete.
- Tap Uninstall.
- Find and delete/offload large files: To save space, you can delete downloaded files you don't need. If the files are needed, then you might want to consider offloading your files to a computer or external storage drive.
- Remove unnecessary media: Any media will take up space on your phone. This includes photos, movies, downloaded music. Consider offloading your files to a computer or external storage drive, and be sure to delete them from your phone's storage.

Hardware Issues
Solution: Open up your phone and look for any damage
- Inspect your Screen for Physical Damage: Drops, impacts, or exposure to moisture can damage display connectors or logic board components. Look for visible cracks, screen separation, or liquid damage indicators. If your phone was liquid damage consider looking at our Electronics Water Damage Wiki, and while it's made originally for iPhones, our iPhone Liquid Damage Guide.
- Look for any loose connections: If your phone recently fell, there’s a chance a connection inside your phone had been disconnected. You’ll need a guide for your specific phone and open it to check for any loose connections.
- Look for any Damage to the Motherboard: In some cases, a logic board issue may be preventing display output. Look for any burnt or damaged components. If there are components that are damaged, then the board itself might need to be replaced unless you have soldering skills.
