Spilled beer on my mac screen damage

I had a party and one of the guests spilled beer all over my Mac, I completely panicked but I laid it on the bathroom floor with the battery out and dried up all that was spilled inside were the battery was and the keyboard. I put it upside down with paper between the screen and keyboard, the most part of the liquid came out then (i think). it would not start that night.

It worked the next morning and it works properly. but the screen has a "water damage",

What is the best way to fix this? It would be very expensive to go back where I bought it .. and should I worry that my Mac Book to stop working recently?

What kind of water damage? Does the screen work? Will your machine work with an external monitor?

Hello Katrine. Looking at the example photos you will certainly have to replace the lcd display panel. If you feel comfortable replacing this then the link to the guide is below.

With liquid spillage i would recommend fully tearing down the macbook for a deep clean to reduce the chances or corrosion over time.

With a spill, you can't be sure where the liquid has gone - it gets everywhere. Once it gets on the circuit boards, it can start to corrode the electronic circuitry. The idea of a deep cleaning (with purified alcohol or a similar cleaner) is to remove both the liquid and any residue the liquid carried in suspension. In the case of water, the concern would be minerals; in the case of beer, wine, soda or juice, the concern will be sugars, which can burn/caramelize with the heat of the circuit, and cause further damage. iFixit's Electronics Water Damage guide is a good start; also the MacBook Core Duo Logic Board Replacement guide.
