Background and Identification
Huawei P smartphones are manufactured by Chinese-based electronics company Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. Originally marketed as the Huawei Ascend P series, the Huawei P series includes high-end flagship smartphones targeted toward mainstream consumers. The series runs on the Android operating system.
Huawei introduced the P series in 2012 with the Huawei Ascend P1. The Ascend series continued with the Huawei Ascend P2, Huawei Ascend P6, and Huawei Ascend P7. The Huawei Ascend P7 was released in 2014 and was the last phone in the Ascend series.

One of the main features of the Huawei P series is the high camera quality. Huawei began collaborating with German camera manufacturer Leica in 2016 with the Huawei P9. The Huawei P40 Pro+ includes 3x and a 10x optical zoom telephoto lenses. The 10x lens is a periscope lens.
