Is it possible to upgrade the S7 Slim from the shipped Android OS of version 2.2 (Froyo) to 5.0 (Lollipop)?

Yes, you can! Since you're trying to upgrade to another Android OS, the update should be available on the Google Play store.
Remember:
- keep a backup of your personal data
- make sure your tablet is charged!
- enable USB debugging mode

You should carefully read the manufacturer's documentation about that.
When googling, huawei ideos s7 slim lollipop, the first 100 results were image downloads. I suppose that if they were present, it means they would work. Anyways, see Huawei's website (or other website you trust).
