unit will not turn on

I signed off and put the unit on the charger and the next night tried to turn it on and nothing .  I've held the power button down and nothing.  I then charged each piece the screen and then the keybd and nothing.  Can not understand what happened any suggestions?  The unit is a little over a yr old (naturally) and it doesn't work.
