Also look into running a power flush on your device. This can be achieved by following Googles Chromebook reset instructions:

(In your case you would shut it down and use the keyboard short cut in the login screen)

Sign out of your Chromebook.

Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R.

Click Restart to restart your Chromebook.

In the box that appears, click Reset and sign in with your Google Account.

Note: The account you sign in with after you reset your Chromebook will be the owner account.

Follow the instructions in the box.

Once you've set up your Chromebook, check if the problem is fixed.

THIS WILL RESET YOUR CHROMEBOOK but being a google device all your pictures, documents and the like should be online in the google drive.

This will fix %95 of software issues.

If it does not look into creating and using a recovery USB drive and finally if that doesn't work chances are it's hardware and being a chromebook it's often simpler to replace it.
