I know this was from 2009 but for anyone wondering. My fix was to find which direction the plug needed to be pushed and then I put a thin peace of paper about half a cm tall and one cm wide into the socket (on the opposite side to where it needed to be pushed) then stuck the plug in. Another option is to use tape to pull it in the direction you want it (may not look pleasant though).
