The original battery in my laptop died and I ordered and installed what I understood to be a compatible battery (Lenovo 01AV409 56Wh Battery) ******from Ifixit. My computer doesn't detect the new battery, though the computer will run on battery power. (I assume it isn't charging, though I have no way of knowing.) I'm running Windows 10.
Here's everything I've tried so far, rebooting each time:
* Uninstalled and reinstalled new battery
* Tried to scan hardware and update drivers in Lenovo Vantage (No battery is detected, so there's nothing to scan, and I can't update the bios firmware without a detected battery.)
* Pushed in the reset button for 30 seconds using a paperclip, with the AC adaptor unplugged
* Manually deleted and installed current battery driver
* Reset BIOS system configuration by loading defaults in the BIOS setup utility
The only other thing I can think to try is to use Lenovo's USB Recovery tool to create a USB recovery key and reinstall Windows on the computer, but before I do that, I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue or can offer a solution. Thanks in advance!
