While pressing up on the drip spring mechanism, remove the clear round plastic retainer holding the mechanism in place.

Remove the spring from the dripper.
I have Cuisinart's Grind & Brew machine and it has an identical drip plug assembly. My problem was not knowing how to replace this spring, but having lost it and needing to find a suitable spring to replace. There are several spring specialty websites, but the one that had the item I needed had a $40 minimum. My basket holder has thrown off the clear plastic retainer ring; is there a replacement part I can purchase?
When the basket holder came apart - the clear plasted retainer ring came off of mine, also. Can you just purchase this piece?
