    • Unplug the laptop before changing the battery to avoid electric shock.

    • Place the laptop on a flat stable surface.

    • Flip the laptop over so the underside is visible.

    • Locate the battery lock switch.

    • Slide the lock switch to the left (away from the lock symbol).

    • Slide the battery out away from the laptop.

    • Remove the one 2mm Phillips #00 screw on the module cover.

    • Use the plastic opening tool to lift the module cover.

    • Pull the metal tabs away from the RAM chip to release it from the motherboard.

    • Pull the chip up from the laptop.

    • Use the plastic opening tool to lift the chip out if it's difficult to do with your hands.

    • Repeat this process for the RAM chip directly beneath the last one.
