How to Clean Calcium Deposits From a Sprinkler Head

The type of sprinkler head this guide applies to is the Rain Bird adjustable 4in. Pop-up Spray Head. The project doesn't require two people but it makes the cleaning process easier and quicker to complete. The time to clean one head is about 10 minutes.

Place your fingers under the edges of the smaller circle, then slowly lift the head.

If working with two people, use one hand to hold the base of the neck so the sprinkler doesn't fall back into the body of the sprinkler.

If working by yourself, slowly release the neck back down. It is still retrievable by twisting the head back on and repeating the process in step 2.

Once the head is reassembled the water flow should no longer be obstructed and should regain the full range of spray.
