Turn off the AC unit at the circuit breaker box for your home.

Use an impact driver or torque wrench with a #8 Hex socket bit to remove the seven 12.7 mm bolts from the panel cover of the AC unit.

Use the impact driver (or torque wrench) with a #8 Hex Socket bit to remove the four 12.7 mm long bolts securing the inner panel of the AC.

Identify the magnetic switch within the unit. It is typically located near the compressor or fan assembly.
Use a multimeter, or any voltage tester, to test for a voltage.
If you detect any voltage, revert back to step 1. If no voltage is detected in the magnetic switch, you can proceed to the next step.

Use a 2.5 mm flathead screwdriver to loosen the 3 screws on the front face of the magnetic switch.

Use pliers to unplug the cables from the perimeter of the switch.
Take note of the socket for each cable to ensure proper placement during reassembly.

Use a #8 Hex socket bit and Impact driver or torque wrench to remove the two 12.7 mm bolts holding the switch to the AC.
Remove the old magnetic switch.
