I am have been a phone repair technician for over two years. Saving an estimated 3,500 phones from the landfill in that time.
I started out only doing only iPhone screens and batteries but now can do even the most complicated micro-soldering repairs.
I always have been a fixer. When I was a child I always liked taking apart my toys to see how they worked. Now taking things apart and fixing them is my job.
My favorite repair I have ever done was fixing my HomePod mini. One day I went to use it and it was wam and would not respond. I disassembled it and determined it was a board issue. Which I was able to fix by removing a shorted capacitor by the PMU.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge to help other fixers!

Greetings! Most likely since the glass is not covering the camera anymore, dust may have gotten in to the camera, like behind the lens of the actual camera module. The lens of the actual camera may have been scratched as well too, I believe it is made of plastic, but not sure of that. You probably will need a new camera to fix this issue.
Plus d'informationThe only time I have every experienced the "camera failed" error message was when I replaced a US model camera with an International model camera. The US and International versions of the phones have different cameras and they are not compatible with each other. It appears that iFixit only sells the US Model camera. This is notated on the back of the camera flex cable where it has the model SM-G973U, whereas the International camera should have the model number SM-G973F. Therefore I believe that the issue is most likely that the camera iFixit sells is not compatible with the International model of the Galaxy S10.
Plus d'informationDid you buy both of the replacement batteries from the same place? If so, it is possible you just got two bad ones. I would try another battery from a different source, if you haven't already. There could be an issue where the phone doesn't like any replacement batteries, I have seen this a few times with various phones, but that is rare. Since it powers on with the old battery still, I would say it is most likely the case that you somehow just got two bad batteries.
Plus d'informationUnfortunately it is kind of hard to narrow down what the issue could be. I see a lot of times that when any of the cameras or flash quit working all three will stop working. Since the area that was smashed was where the back camera is, I would say it is safe to assume it it either your back camera or flash causing the problem. Though it could, of course, be a board issue, I would say the chances of that are slim. Also as long as the back on the phone is not damaged, most likely the flash will be fine as well. So, most likely you just have a broken back camera, and it needs to be replaced to fix the function front camera and the flash as well. Happy Fixing!
Plus d'informationMost likely the issue is that you got a bad screen from eBay. Since you said there was water damage to the phone, that could be causing the issue, but I would say most likely it is a bad screen issue. I would recumbent contacting the seller on eBay to see if you can get a new one, or a refund, then try another screen.
Plus d'informationGreetings! I would like to go over the haptic issues first. For that you should make sure that the Taptic Engine is plugged in and making a good connection, then make sure the screws holding it into place are tight. These screen can get loose, and cause the engine to make horrible noises when activated because it is loose and shaking more than it should. You mentioned you scratched the wireless charging coil, but that shouldn't be problem. And the grounding clips or "spring connectors" are mostly fro grounding the antennas of the phone, and shouldn't affect functionality. As the tweet that you linked in your post said , there have been may issues with aftermarket screens when updating to iOS 16. The new operating system introduced a new boot sequence that a lot of aftermarket screens are incompatible with. This primarily caused the iPhone 11 Pro Max Soft OLED aftermarket screens having touch issues and the iPhone 12 Pro Max Hard OLED aftermarket screens having no image after updating. I haven't heard of...
Plus d'informationI have attached an image to help identify your problem. (1) Q: Are you wanting to replace just the black circle on the camera lens, notated by the red arrows? (1.1) A: If you are looking to repair this you would have to replace the whole camera lens, including the the clear part in the middle as it is all one piece. This can be done by heating up the lens and carefully prying it out. Making sure to not damage the camera itself in the process. (2) Q: Or are you looking to replace the stainless steel metal boarder around the camera lens, notated by the white arrow? (2.1) A: If you are looking to replace this stainless steel border, it is VERY difficult, I would say it is basically impossible. This piece is actually welding on the the frame on the inside of the phone, and maybe even under the back glass, (not sure on this model) making it almost impossible to do this. I would not recommend attempting this repair. I hope this helps you!
Plus d'informationGreetings! The piece that you said you snagged with a Q-Tip near the charging port is most likely a grounding clip of some sort, there are many of these in the phone and should not cause any issues. Usually when my customers come in with low volume speakers it is caused by a build up of dirt in the speaker grill, since you just replaced the screen I doubt that it would be dirty, but if it visible looks dirty you can try to clean it. The way I do this is: 1. Take tweezer and gently scrape and dirt loose from the top of the grill being careful not to poke a hole through the grill. 2. Then I take canned air and blow the grill free of any debris. 3. I use a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol to "scrub" on the grill. 4. Again, blow the speaker out. 5. Test to see if it helped. Again I doubt this is it, but maybe worth a try. Since the speaker is working, but just quiet, I doubt that it is a connection issue, but you may try opening the phone to see if you have the cable for the ear speaker connected well....
Plus d'informationWhen my customers come in needing a microphone replaced, for instance, and their screen is cracked I always warn them that it may crack more and need to be replaced after the repair. In your case, of course, the only person you have to worry about it yourself since it is your device. Having an already broken screen makes it a lot easier to break the screen even more (probably physics or something). But it is definitely possible to remove without causing any more damage to the broken screen. You may have to heat the device several times and have plenty of patience with it, but it is certainly doable. And even though it is cracked, it should be able to go right back on once the repair is complete. You will need to be extra cautious around the cracked area and make sure it is thoroughly heated to help with the removal. Even if it does crack more, most often it will still be functional as long as the digitizer and OLED aren't damaged. I hope this helped!
Plus d'informationThe drain pipe needs to be able to vent air via something like this. Otherwise the toilet will not function properly.
