reboot does not stay after I shut down
i bought a new hard drive 1 Tb for My Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop and used the reboot dics they work but after i shut down i have to reboot it again

This question does not make sense... What do you mean reboot discs?
P.S. the best way to move all the data on one drive to another is to clone it with something like clonezilla...

I'm sure that they mean the OEM Restore Disks. What is confusing me is that they have to reboot after shut down...Are they saying that they have to reinstall Windows again?

Do you have an external HDD enclosure? And the old HDD still?

Does windows use UUIDs ?
To me, It sounds like the boot on the new HDD looks for the bootable partition on the old/discarded HDD; maybe the cloning is not complete.

I don't think he cloned it... I think he is reinstalling from the OEM discs that came with the laptop
