Won't charge or power on
Any answer for why this may of happened? Or how to fix?

Dylan, May not power on, because battery is dead because battery/charger port could be faulty or charger not working. Check the attached link.

My jbl pulse 2 starts up and has the lights flashing for 2 seconds and afterwords it dies. It keeps doing the same for like 50 times. This triggers me the battery is not dead. Any idea what it could be?

The JBL Pulse 2 USB fails all the time. JBL makes warrantee work quite difficult to get. Heres how I fixed the USB port.
1. Remove rubber ring on the bottom . Warm it up with a hair dryer or heat gun, its hot glued on.
2. Unscrew the four silver screws you find under the rubber, remove the vanity ring.
3. Unscrew the four black screws you rind under the vanity ring. Gently pry between the grate and this part and loosen this structural part. Its attached to the rubber strip that has all the buttons, so your just going to bend it back.
4, warm up the black diaphram with the JBL logo in the middle and peel it off carefully.. Again. hot glued.
5. Locate the plug in the middle (white) with one red and one black wire attached. Labeled "GND VUSB"
6. Remove that plug. (this is the charge power from the broken usb port)
7. Get a 'PH2' connector with pigtails from your buddy who flys drones. (or get one on amazon)
8. Drill a small hole at the base of the black USB/aux in plastic into the body of the speaker
9. Plug in the PH2 to the GND VUSB port, run the wires out the hole.
10. Sacrafice an old USB charging cord for a camera, or this speaker, cut it, expose the red and black wires. Solder red to red black to black. Cover solder joints with shrink tube.
11. Plug it in and see if it charges! if So.
12. Put the diaphram back on with hot glue, then step 3 and 2 in reverse, then make sure you figure out how to line up the black rubber ring before you stick it back on with hot glue. (Its got high and low spots. ask me how I know)

I am currently troubleshooting this problem myself. It appears that this issue may have nothing to do with the charge port and or a dead battery. I have an older style dual USB Anker wall charger with a charging indicator light, that turns green when charging and blue when not charging or fully charged. When the speaker is plugged into the charger and I press the power button, the speaker will attempt to turn on, flash it’s LED lights for a second or two, and during that time, my Anker charger’s LED will turn green, and then the speaker turns back off. When the speaker goes off, the light goes back to blue. The fact that the LED turns green, indicates the speaker is taking charge during that second or two that it comes on.
I have since taken apart this speaker and have bypassed the charge port. I have attempted to charge the speakers battery via the PCB board (not charge port), only to have the same issue. Thinking that the battery might be completely depleted, I ordered a battery from eBay. After a temp install of the battery, the speaker is still experiencing the same issue. It does not turn on, nor does it charge; and the same issue above persist.
It’s safe to say that generally any replacement battery you purchase online, should have some amount of charge in it. So even if, I’m not able to charge the new battery, it should have enough power in it, to turn the speaker on. Seeing that the speaker still won’t turn on, I have now concluded that the speaker has some board level issue (preventing it to boot), other than the battery or charge port.
I’m currently attempting to charge the battery via an HW-168 board to see if anything changes. If there is any changes, then I’ll report back.

Thanks for your investigation, I have the same issue with this speaker.
Do you think it can be some kind of planned obsolescence ? If so, maybe replacing the motherboard would fix the issue ?
hey ! i'm having the same problem and try the same as this guy but I cannot see more where is the problem that's now 3 years that I'm fighting with this speaker if anybody has information about it I will be the happiest guy in the world !
