Turned off while charging after battery replacement and will not turn

After installing the new iFixit battery I tried to boot the laptop and it did not work. I then connected the power adapter to it and waited a couple of minutes. Then tried to power it on and it showed the battery icon at 3% then booted. I let it charge a while longer and began to log into iCloud and install some apps I needed and the battery was charged up to 68% at this point. Everything went fine and I finished all of my installs. Closed the lid and left it charging for several more hours. I came back and opened the lid to find it had shut down. I had not gone back into terminal to turn on the autoboot for when the lid is opened and assumed it might have shut down when I closed the lid? I tried to turn it on but it is dead. I tired the battery reset commands, Using the Touch Bar power button and trying the track pad to see if it is turning on but not showing up and tried a different power adaptor and cable. I get no sounds, no icons, nothing. Even if the battery is a bad battery wouldn't I still be able to boot with the power adaptor attached? I really do not want to do another 2.5 hour battery replacement to see if it's the battery. Anyone have any ideas other than take it to a Mac certificated repair center for them to test? Thanks

Update (11/19/24)

I am referring to the battery daughter cable. I will attach a photo with it circled in red. I unplug one end of this cable to get the laptop to start with the wall charger. Then I connect it while the laptop is running. That is when the battery shows up and says it is charging. I installed coconut battery and I have attached screens shots from it also.

After disconnecting the new battery I tried turning it on and it booted. I have ordered a daughter battery flex cable to see if replacing that makes it work. If not then it has to be a bad battery so hopefully iFixt will replace that for free.

I installed the new daughter battery flex cable and it still did not boot so I believe it has to be the new iFixIt battery. I submitted a request for a replacement battery on 10/28/2024 so hopefully when I get a response they will send me a new battery.

I can not get IfixIt to respond to my issue and request for a replacement battery. I guess I am out that money and will move onto see if the OWC battery will work.

So, today I received a new battery from iFixIt but never got any kind of email stating they were sending anything but I appreciate it. I removed the previous and installed the new battery and got the same result. It must not be the battery but the motherboard. I disconnected the battery daughterboard cable and hooked up the power adaptor and the laptop booted. I then connect the daughter cable back while it was booted (I Know not the best idea). Although when I connected the daughterboard cable back while on it recognized the battery and began to charge it. I let it charge 10% more than what it was and checked the battery status and it said normal. I pulled the power plug from the laptop and the laptop turned off and will not boot. So it sounds like its recycle time for the laptop unless someone here has any ideas on how to repair or what is going on. Thanks

@mblarchitecture just to recap. The battery is seen and does charge but when you disconnect the charger your computer turns off. Is that about right? You do have a multimeter and now how to use it?
