Without looking at the [link|https://laptop-schematics.com/view/14128/|schematic]¹ to know for sure, but nowadays the camera circuit is incorporated in the EDP cable (40 wire? video cable) between the motherboard and the display assembly.
It could either be 2 dedicated wires in the cable between the motherboard and the camera or it can also just be a 2 wire USB data link between the motherboard and the display assembly and then the camera is connected to a controller in the display assembly.
