-[* black] Separate the thermostat casing off of the wall plate using a pair of pliers. (It should come off rather easily)
-[* black] Remove the thermostat casing off of the wall using your hand.
-[* black] Take a picture using your cell phones camera of the color-coded wiring, so it will be easier to re-attach the wiring to the new thermostat.
