Save the plastic piece, cut the cables flush on both side and use a 1/8-in bit to drill the embedded cables out. Then you can reuse it and not have the unsightly hot-glue blob!
I cut the wire as close to each end of the plastic/rubber plug/grommet that covers the case opening. I used a 1/8-in bit and drilled out the two embedded cables. Enlarge the hole slightly and the wire will slide through. Do this before STEP 9. Once the black cable is “twirled up”, it may get more difficult to slide through the 1/8” opening (but still possible).
I placed the top case, keyboard side down, on a table with the display draped over the edge at 90-degrees. I can support the screen with my knees and have full-view of and comfortable access to the 6 mounting screws, as well as the antenna cables. The is especially more stable position in the re-attachment process.
I don't think it is necessary to remove the three 0.5mm screws. Note: the right-most orange circle should be placed instead of the red circle above the two larger orange circles - those are the 0.5mm screws which secures a small plate under the plastic cover which is in NOT physically (but electrically via two metal contacts) to the mainboard.
