Muffled/low-quality sound
Audio transmitted to the device sounds fuzzy or crackles while playing.
Volume too loud or quiet
Adjust volume knob until sound can be heard at a comfortable level.
Sound is not up to standard
Restart your Stanmore and adjust treble and bass knob appropriately to your liking.
Dust or water inside speaker
This wall speaker is not water-resistant, so if liquid does get inside, it could cause damage. See our main speaker repair guide to check for any liquid.
Connection dropping
A strong electrical field surrounding the speaker could interrupt connection. Move the speaker away from large appliances such as microwave ovens, gas cookers, or fluorescent lights.
Degraded speakers
Likely an issue with the Subwoofer or Tweeters, replacement required. See our subwoofer and tweeter repair guide to replace.
Failure to power on
The device doesn’t turn on when the power button is pushed.
Not connected to wall power
The speaker has no battery of its own. Ensure it is plugged in properly to a functioning power outlet.
Faulty or damaged power cable
Ensure the power cable is in good condition.
Jammed/broken power lever
Foreign objects like dust, food, or grease could be stuck inside, or the lever is broken. Refer to our power switch replacement guide to clean or replace.
No audio output (RCA & Aux)
Sound doesn’t transmit to the device when plugged into an audio source.
Wrong RCA cables
RCA cables require specific colors to be used for audio input. Check that each jack is connected to the correct port. Remember: white jack for left and red jack for right.
Faulty RCA input slot
The RCA input slot could be worn out or damaged.
Faulty Aux input slot
The Aux input slot is likely damaged or blocked by something. Refer to our Aux board replacement guide.
Unresponsive Device
When the device is turned on, the audio source doesn’t show as connected on the source’s Bluetooth settings.
Source Button set to wrong mode
Press the button labeled “SOURCE” to alternate between Bluetooth, AUX and RCA audio sources. May also be changed in the Marshall Bluetooth app.
Out of date speaker software
Pair your Stanmore II with the Marshall app to update its firmware. Then restart the Bluetooth speaker, and try connecting.
Faulty Power Jack
The device may not actually be turned on due to a faulty power jack. Refer to our power jack replacement guide.
Bluetooth connection not working
When your device is connected successfully, but is not outputting any sound or doing so infrequently.
Inconsistent Bluetooth connection
Your phone or laptop's Bluetooth may be out of date and need updating.
App pairing not successful
Make sure Bluetooth on your computer or phone is on, and make sure the Source Button is set to the Bluetooth icon.
Several Bluetooth devices connected at once, trying to play audio
The speaker will forcibly attempt to stop at least one device from playing audio and prioritize the other, this could cause confusion if the speaker prioritizes a different device than the one you intend it to. To fix, disconnect the other device/s and replay from the device you intended to play audio from.
Bluetooth audio source too far from speaker
Make sure your device that is outputting the audio via Bluetooth (i.e. phone or laptop) is close to the speaker and that no large obstacles or walls are in the way.
Faulty Bluetooth module
The Stanmore may have a failing Bluetooth module, which is integrated to the main motherboard.
