Mon problème

The fan sounded like it was dying.

As I was leaving one day, it started running, and I was sure that someone was outside using a weedeater. Then I remembered it was winter and snow was everywhere, so that probably wasn't the case.

Ma solution

Pretty painlessly. I read some reviews hearing that it didn't go as w . . .

Mon problème

I suppose my computer is ancient considering many machines are replaced at 2ish years. Anyway, fan was making terrible clicking/rattling sounds after a suffering a light drop from a low bed onto carpet.

Ma solution

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

Mon conseil

None. If you know how to use a screw driver, you can make this repair.

Mon problème

The fan had been making a loud grinding noise. It also couldn't reach it's max RPM.

Ma solution

It was very straightforward.

Mon conseil

Be slow and patient; the connectors are very delicate. Also, keep track of the screws!

Wife's Macbook Pro 13" fan stopped working

Ma solution

Literally took off the Phillips screws holding bottom cover, took 3 Torx 6 screws out, unplugged fan from board, took out fan, put new one in, plugged into board, put Torx 6 screws back in, and put Phillips back in. Worked like a charm.

Mon conseil

Screws had tiny bump o . . .

The fan was getting noisy but still working. I knew its days were numbered

Ma solution

super easy. While i was in there I decided to upgrade the HD to an SSD also. With the tutorials on Ifixit it was all super easy.

Mon conseil

Don't be afraid to try repairs on your MacBook Pro. It's much easier than you think with the tutor . . .

Mon problème

My MBP has been making this grinding noise that I originally thought was the HDD failing (again). Turned out it was the fan going bad. When I ran a YouTube video my CPU temperature spiked to high 80's and you could hear the fan screaming for mercy. lol :)

Ma solution

The most difficult part of the repair was wa . . .

Mon problème

The fan had completely quit in my 2012 unibody macbook pro and as a result it was overheating and slowing the cpu to a crawl during taxing graphical work.

Ma solution

The new fan fit perfectly and works perfectly and silently. I'm far more confident in its brushless motor to hold up.

Mon conseil

The fans don't come with hard . . .

Mon problème

My fan was making my MacBook sound louder than a blender!

Ma solution

Super easy and straight forward.

Mon conseil

Don't be afraid to make your own repairs. I recently also double the memory sticks on my MacBook and it is now nice and quiet and lightning fast. Having said the, do know your limitations.

Mon problème

The fan was noisy, and it sounded like it was on the way out

Ma solution

All good until it came to levering the fan connector out with the spudger. Then -- as predicted in the instructions -- disaster! All four pins from the logic board sheared off, firmly in the fan connector. Fortunately my local computer tech . . .

Mon problème

The fan was beginning to make a screeching racket and the mac case was getting hotter than it ever had before, then it went quiet and made no noise! So after conferring with a friendMacGuru I presumed that at least the fan could do with replacement immediately lest I need to replace the lot imminent . . .
