Lenovo Legion Y7000P-1060 Repair

The Lenovo Legion Y7000P-1060 is a gaming laptop computer. Compared to normal laptops, gaming laptops provide a higher processing power and better performance, the first of which was introduced in 2017. The Lenovo Legion Y7000P-1060 is part of the Legion series of gaming laptops introduced in 2017, with the Y7000P-1060 being released in 2018. While it was never officially discontinued, it was phased out in favor to the newer models (Legion Y740) in 2020 as newer processors were introduced for the new line. At release, the selling price was around $1,100 to $1,300 USD, being sold as a "budget- friendly" gaming laptop.

The "1060" refers to the graphics card used in the device, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU, which includes 6 GB of memory, and the laptop itself was equipped with the 8th Generation Intel Core Desktop Processor. Compared to the previous iteration (Lenovo Legion Y520 series), the GPU was upgraded from the GTX 1050, as well as the cooling system improved to handle more heat with a more compact design. The main problems with the laptop were in the battery performance and cooling system, where customers complained about the battery life degrading quickly due to more CPU usage (a common problem amongst gaming laptops), as well as dust buildup and loud fan noises coming from the cooling system, leading to overheating in some cases.

The Lenovo Legion Y7000P-1060 can be identified by the black design and Lenovo logo on the back of the screen.
