Carlos, If you feel it is in deed the battery faulty, here is JBL Flip and charge 3 partial tear down video. link below, Flip should be close to your charge assy. Good luck.
I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

Hello I live in Brazil I would like to know if you know where I find this battery of JBL FLIP3. Follow the model P763098 03 3.7v 3000mah 11.1 lithium polymer. Grateful!!!!!!
Hi,
Dissemble the JBL Charge 3 is relatively similar to the Xtreme and also by follow Youtube (just search keyword 'Charge 3 Dissemble')
To get the battery out, you have to take out the right side radiator:
- Notice there is two plastic latches, you need to lift both up using some small metal part as the leverages
- While both latches are up and hold the speakers, trying to turn the radiator anti-clockwise
- This can be hard as first but no worry and there is no cable connect to the radiator
- As you turn about 1.5cm (or can not turn further), just take out the radiator cap
- Take out the cable connect to the battery
Note: no need to take out the speaker apart.

Thanks! What kind of battery is it?
The pics is only random battery 18650 li-ion I got.
My intention is to put 02 parallel protected Panasonic 18650B 3400 Mah (i.e. 1s2p pack) welding into the PCM (the original JBL Protected Circuit Module).
I've just figured out the space and way to fit them into the speaker, one will be in the original location of the battery and one will be inside behind the radiator cap.
I had test the sound with plug-in power supply and fully assembly speakers with all radiator caps on, it sound fine. Finger cross, when I fully complete the solution will post the demonstrated pics.
Awesome! However can't it be LIPO's? it's more mold-able so you can pick one fitting into the original housing.
It can be LiPO as the original battery is. The model number is from China
Brand: GreatPower
Model: GSP1029102A
Rating: 3.7V 6000mah
22.2 Wh Lithium Polymer
However, I want a better solution so that when later battery gone bad again, I can simply buy the readily available 18650 li-ion anywhere. Also to upgrade the speaker capacity to 10200mah :) need for my xtreme long bike riding trip !!!
Can follow my guide to replace and arrange the placements of the battery here:
