No touch with broken glass. No touch after repair.

Ipad Air 2 with broken digitizer and no touch. LCD was working without issue. New digitizer installed and unit still does not recognize touch. I have installed 2 known working digitizers and still no touch. There is no physical damage to the cables or pins. Requested an estimate from IpadRehab in regards to this issue and it is something they do not offer for repair. Any body have any ideas what my next step may be?

The iPad Air 2 has a different Touch configuration than what is well understood on iPhones (esp. the iPhone 6P). I haven't come across your specific problem but looking at the schematics, the Touch is controlled by two Cumulus IC's and one Stinger IC. That's a lot of silicon and traces that can go wrong :>).

This would be a rabbit hole type of repair and I can understand why many shops wouldn't want to quote you a price. No Fix/ No Fee works well when you have solutions and easy access to parts. At 30$ a pop plus shipping for a Stinger IC and an unknown and undocumented problem, any repair attempt here would have to be on a parts+a minimum labor amount approach.

You need to speak with your customer to see what kind of appetite they have for this repair. There is no easy fix.
