It may be a problem with the inverter board or the CCFL backlight tube.
The links are examples only just to show the parts and how much they may cost.
Search online for Toshiba L455D inverter board or Toshiba L455D CCFL tube to find suppliers that suit you best.
Here's a video that shows how to replace the inverter board that may help.
I couldn't find a video on how to replace the CCFL tube in your particular model, but here is one that in general shows what to do.
