Seems as though there's a problem with the battery in the laptop.
Create a battery report to check the status of the battery.
When you have the report, compare the Design Capacity value versus the Full Charge Capacity value as seen in the report.
For a good battery they should be nearly the same value.
You can work out the condition of the battery as a percentage by using the formula: Full Charge Capacity value x 100 ÷ Design Capacity value.
If the battery is <35% you may wish to consider replacing it.
Here's the hardware maintenance manual, for the laptop.
Go to p.70 and then to p.84 to view the procedure to remove/replace the battery in the laptop.
Here's the parts list for the laptop. Click on Select Commodity > Rechargeable batteries Internal(8) to find the spare part numbers for all the batteries that are compatible and can be used in the laptop (one of these numbers may also printed on your battery). Search online for the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.

is at 56% so do i replace it or no?
You initial post was from 9 months ago so presumably the battery has been working reasonably well since then?
Try fully charging the battery i.e. 100% (check using the battery report that it is 100% or whatever it says when it stops charging) last thing before closing down for the night and then when you next start it see what charge % is shown.
It may be that the battery is self discharging too fast (a good battery shouldn't self discharge that fast, maybe only 1%-2% overnight)
If it loses a lot of charge overnight replace it as it isn't going to get any better, only worse.
It could be because of your OS settings, if on Windows, check if your power plan has fast startup enabled and if you have been properly turning off the laptop.
If on Linux, check the same, but it could change where depending on your desktop environment,
