There are two ways to do this. You can buy a used part - they are available and not that expensive (and not super hard to service if you have the right lubes and tools.) You can also buy a brand new freehub. As long as you buy a Shimano freehub that is rated for 9 speed (which should be most of them) you should be good to go. Yes, sometimes the newer iOS systems won’t “recognize” a non-Apple component. They’ve done this sort of thing before, and even prevented components from working. As long as your phone is firing up, I’d call it a win.

Iphone connectors can be finicky. Go slowly and try repositioning before pushing gently with your spudger. If that doesn’t work, look at the connector pins inside the connector / on the other side of the connection. If any of them are laying down, you have bent them. You can use your spudger to bend them back, but the pins may be damaged beyond repair in some instances. I’ve done this with the digitizer assembly in an iPhone 5, and it’s really frustrating. Good luck - be gentle. Positioning is important and it will click with gentle pressure if you’re positioned right.

You can also use your recovery disc and do a fresh install if you still have one.

Does it cool off before rebooting? Your device sounds like it’s powering off as a safety measure - your battery may be shorting out and overheating. You might try a new battery. No recent submersions right?

Try doing a hard reset between them. Tell your macbook to forget the device, power off both devices. Power on your macbook, turn on bluetooth, and then manually pair them again. I’ve had issues with another apple product and my bluetooth in the past and this has always worked. If you’re still getting skipped music, it may be a problem with the headphones, and not your macbook.
