My name is Mustafa, and I am a junior at UMass Dartmouth majoring in data science. I chose to major in data science because data, record keeping, and data visualization mesmerized me from a young age. I always love looking at graphs, charts, and tables such as weather records, census data, and surveys. Data can answer many questions, and is a critical part of life.

I have repair experience both professionally, and personally. I worked as an IT admin for a school, doing repairs on Chromebooks that were lent out in the summer and brought back broken. I repaired screens, charging ports, and motherboards. I am a repair guru around the house, replacing batteries on laptops, taking apart and fixing appliances around the house such as garbage disposals and dishwashers, and recycling old technology such as turning old computers into servers and NAS devices. I hate to see a good device or appliance being thrown away because of a fixable issue. That is why right to repair is important to me. Manufacturers not selling replacement or schematics, or making the replacement parts prohibitively expensive means that perfectly working devices have to be thrown away and replaced, which adds to the problem of e-waste and financial strain on families that might not be able to afford a replacement.

Projects

I run a few servers that me and my friends enjoy, such as a Minecraft server, an ARK Sruvival server, and a Plex server where my friends and I upload and watch shows and movies that wer (legally) ripped from DVD's we own. I created these servers from old computers, Raspberry Pi's, and computer parts that would have been discarded such as old storage devices and power supplies.
