Keyboard/Keyboard Keys Not Responding

Keyboard keys will not respond or spring back up.

Stuck Keyboard Keys

To remove a key or get a key unstuck, it will require a small flat tool. A flat head screwdriver works best. After obtaining the tool, us the flat end to gently apply pressure to the edge of the stuck key. The key will either pop off or become unstuck. If the key does pop off, simply place the key back in the proper place and press down firmly until you hear an audible click.

Unresponsive Keyboard

If multiple keys are broken or the entire keyboard is unresponsive. You may need to replace it.

Disc Drive Will Not Open

The disk drive will not open when the button is depressed.

Broken Eject Button

If the eject button fails to open the disc tray there may be an issue with the connection to the button itself. Next to the eject button, there is a small pinhole. You can straighten out a paper clip as your tool for this step. Simply insert the paper clip into the small hole and press firmly and the tray should eject.

Pinhole Will Not Eject Disc Tray

There is a screw located on the back of your device towards the middle. This screw requires a small Philips head screwdriver to remove. Once you have removed the screw, you will be able to manually remove your disc drive.

Running Slow or Freezing

Computer speed has slowed down or screen has froze.

Computer Running Slow

If the computer speed is slower than normal it could be overworked. Closeout any unnecessary applications or browser tabs. If that does not work restart the computer. Check the fan ventilation ports to make sure they’re not obscured or clogged with dust.

Screen is Freezing

If the screen is frozen, first try turning the computer off with the power button. If the power button is unresponsive close the device and either disconnect the battery, or unplug the device. Next, turn the computer back on by reconnecting the battery or power supply.

Touchpad is Unresponsive

The cursor is unresponsive while using the touchpad and/or right and left-clicking the touchpad results with nothing.

Keep Touchpad Unobstructed

If the cursor is unresponsive while using the touchpad, try wiping the touchpad clean with a microfiber cleaning cloth to ensure there is no residue inhibiting touchpad response.

Unresponsive keys may be the result of clicking both keys or the touchpad at the same time, so be sure that you’re keeping your fingers clear of the touchpad while using one of the keys.

Enable Touchpad

If the problem persists, look to the top of the keyboard for the F7 key and press it, then retry to see if the touchpad is working again. Remember that this key will lock the touchpad when pressed.

Also, try restarting your laptop if the above step does not work.

WiFi not Connecting

The wireless internet connection is not responsive.

Trouble Connecting To WiFi

If the wireless internet does not initially connect, visibly check the WiFi icon located at the bottom right.  Hover the pointer over the WiFi icon to see the stability of the current connection. If the icon displays an exclamation mark or red line an error is occurring.  By pressing the WiFi icon it will display all possible connections within a given range.  Select the WiFi connection and enter the correct password (if a password is needed).  Ensure a WiFi password is correct and press connect.  If the WiFi icon is green the wireless internet is connected and running.

Faulty WiFi Card

A faulty or outdated wireless card can cause connectivity issues with the WiFi.  To check that the wireless card is up to date go to Device Manager and select the Control Panel.  If the wireless internet remains disconnected the Wireless card is defective and needs to be replaced.
