My invoke becomes unresponsive after a few mins whenplaying music from a paired Bluetooth device... every time. I did the whole setup as well as factory reset it already and same issue. I only use the invoke as a paired Bluetooth speaker, so it doesn't serve it's purpose when it keeps disconnecting. Please help!

Peter Bootoor - Réponse

Same issue here. Feels like the speaker is warm (not hot) near the top. 10-20 min max of play, and it will freeze completely. The light will then go amber and the unit reboots after a while. Really enjoy the sound from this device when it works, so this is very disappointing.

Rich Lockheart -

I am haveing an issue that started yesterday I just moved it to a different location and ever since then the led light sensor has been spiraling around and won’t even let me set it up to an account and so far I have tried holding down the microphone button, unplugging it and plugging it in, hitting the factory reset button. Also I have tried to see if I could do it manually with a mini usb male to usb male port and I did find connection problems because my computer would keep on restarting the device manager when I tried to run it does anyone know how to fix this.

Any luck? I’m having the same exact issue. One White LED circling around the top display. Powers on but unresponsive to bluetooth, mic button or reset pinhole. I don’t want to throw this speaker away.

Same. Looks like it is dead….

Andrey Stepanoff -

Same here. Seems to have happened to a lot of people at the same time. We need a solution.

André Claesson -

Same thing. I’ve even reached out to HK support, and they gave up and offered be a discount coupon for another HK purchase, which I won’t make.

My invoke does not identify any Wi-Fi connection. When trying setup from a PC the Cortana app tells me “It looks like you can’t connect to Wi-Fi with this device. Try using another device that can connect to Wi-Fi.” When trying setup from my Android phone I have the same issue, I can connect to the Invoke but when it searches for Wi-Fi it does not find any ( yes my router is broadcasting) when I enter the Wi-Fi name and password the Invoke seems like it is trying to connect but never does. This is not a name or password failure because my phone is already connected. So far I have found no troubleshooting help online. Any suggestions?

How can I change the WiFi to my Invoke?

My invoke keeps turning red wont get pass update

Malcolm Anthony - Réponse

My Invoke keeps saying ‘something went wrong’ and turning red lights on top. the bluetooth works, wlan connected successfully, just the final speaker update fails. I have to mention that I have another Invoke (previously bought) which works correctly. For the one that fails I use the same Microsoft account, bought connected to the same home wlan. Shall I create new account?

Anyone with suggestion, please?

Hello I purchased the Invoke Speakers but there is no app on Apple and it doens’t do nothing.

Marco Cabrera - Réponse

For those having issues with the update, go through the setup process, when you get the red lights at the end, unplug your Invoke for a minute, plug it back in, and let it run. It will eventually finish the setup process. Unfortunately, your firmware will be incredibly old, but otherwise works as intended.

Hope this helps everyone, I know how frustrating this is!

Can’t connect to the wifi anymore, can’t use bluetooth either, I ask Cortana to set up Invoke and says sorry I can’t help you with that.

Suddenly no Blue Tooth connection to my my PC ect??

Lawrence Crivello - Réponse

How to set up Invoke as a Bluetooth speaker without using Cortana? I reset mine today and was unable to re-set it up with Cortana. It always shows “something’s gone wrong“ after I selected the device in Cortana. I only want to use it as a Bluetooth speaker, is there a way? Thanks

Sam Peng - Réponse

I have the same issue, Sam did you get an answer ?

Ngoni Murandu -

Keeps saying “Ready for set up”. All I want to do is pair it and use as a bluetooth speaker. Support for this device is supposed to end soon. In order to use as a stand alone bluetooth speaker, you are supposed to leave it connected online and the firmware will be automatically updated. I left it online for over a week. There is no indication whether or not the firmware has been updated. Once thins is for sure, it still doesn’t work as a stand alone bluetooth speaker. I still have the Cortana app and it won’t connect. Thankfully I was given this as a gift and I didn’t spend a dime on it. I can’t believe Microsoft and Harman/Kardon can’t get a simple device to work and perform basic functions such as a bluetooth speaker. Not even a 3.5mm aux jack. Such proprietary stupidity. It’s a shame because it sounds decent. But their pi5sin9 contest cost the consumer a good product. Shame on both companies.

I contacted HK support and they sent me an email to download a flash module. In trying to flash the speaker, it fails every time. I really like this speaker but it is trash as it is (not being able to use the bluetooth).

Chris Thomas -

That's really interesting. Can you share it with us? I'm a developer and maybe I can figure it out.

André Claesson -

HK says I can’t share the download but I would love to figure this out. Hoping I hear back from support with a solution. All I get now is a swirling yellow light and can’t find any information as to what it means.

Chris Thomas -

We have the firmware and some debug information started here. https://github.com/coggy9/HKHacking

If you have trouble flashing leave a comment.

This fixed my device!

Let’s face it, Windows 10 is pure garbage.

There is now a firmware update to make it into a Bluetooth only speaker. You can also get a $50 credit for the Microsoft store. bing.com/cortanainvokeredemption

My Invoke device has stopped connecting through bluetooth. I can pair the device but when I connect it, it disconnects immediately. I have unplugged and re-plugged, tried resetting, connecting with windows and android, and the behavior is the same. It disconnects immediately after connecting.

Mauricio Magni - Réponse

My speaker works. I can’t connect to it. But she won’t factory reset. I tried the pin hole reset it didn’t work. There’s a reset button on the bottom next the power outlet, which isn’t working for me.

any other way to reset??

aculmer13 - Réponse

Yes. I had the same problem. A reflash of the firmware helped.

How do I reflash the firmware??
